yes and no.
yes because look at all the athletes that have got caught up in competition and have taken steroids and other harmful drugs.
no because it's been tradition for many years. also no because most of you are probably thinking of terrorists but why stop something because something bad could happen. what if you walk to work/school, you could get hit by a car, would you quit your job/ stop going to school... no!
Absolutely, football as well and make this the last Olympics.

no it should not be abolished
theodosius did in 393 or 394 A.D.
we shouldn't abolish the Olympics because people have been working very hard and it won't be fair for the athletes
The Olympics were last celebrated in AD 393, and abolished for being un-Christian the following year.
The Olympian Games were abolished in 393 by the Christian Emperor Theodosios I.
capital punishment should be abolished in the U.S.
Yes, it should be abolished all over the world including the Islamic Countries.
They were very violent games, with a lot of naked men (no women nearby by law) and as ideas about conduct changed, the ancient Olympics lost popularity.
As far as I know, the modern Olympics have never been abolished. There have been times when teams or countries boycotted, but the Olympics still continues on, year after year, as they have since 1896. But perhaps you are referring to ancient times: during the Roman Empire, Emperor Theodosius I (who was a Christian) decided the Olympics were too pagan, and he ordered them to be banned. That occurred in the year 393, and the ban lasted for more than 1500 years.
The ancient Olympics were dedicated to the pagan gods. As the Roman empire had Christianity imposed on it, such institutions were abolished. The emperor Theodosius ended the games in 393 AD. He also closed pagan temples and destroyed most to the ancient Greek sculptures, as they were almost all images of gods and goddesses -- i.e., pagan idols.
