Alain Prost driving for McLaren Honda won the formula one drivers championship in 1989. He had a total of 76 points from 4 wins that season. Ayrton Senna came in 2nd place with 60 points and 6 wins. McLaren Honda won the constructors championship beating Williams Renault by over 50 points.
