  • On a karting track. Usually they allow driving your own kart for a small money amount per day.
  • Any private property where you have the owner's permission. For example, in your own yard or a friend or family member's yard.
  • Depending on where you live, in a parking lot on a day the business is closed.

In some states, any traffic signs and laws are unenforceable in parking lots, private roads, an apartment complex's common grounds, your backyard, and so on since it's private property, but the owner or the manager of the property can come out and ask you to leave. In my experience, if you show up on a Sunday, the police may sit at a distance and wait for you to break the law by driving out of the parking lot on to public property. Don't do this! You have to walk your gokart with the motor off to and from your home to the parking lot or have a parent transport it for you in the back of their trailer or pickup truck. Otherwise, I assume they will impound your kart and give you a citation. I've never had this happen to me because I obey the law.
