What is Fernando alonso famous for?

For being a Spanish Formula One driver. He started racing in F1 in 2001 and took his first victory in 2003. He won the Drivers' Championship with Renault in both 2005 and 2006, and was Lewis Hamilton's team-mate when he had his first year in the sport in 2007 with McLaren. They both missed out on the title by one point. Alonso has taken lots more wins since then, but has still only won the title twice. His first year with the Ferrari team was in 2010 and he took five wins and narrowly beaten by Sebastian Vettel. He is still with Ferrari and hasn't had another good shot at a title since but is definitely the most respected driver on the grid and probably the best (maybe the highest paid too!)
