In F1, Toleman Hart (1984). This team would later become Benetton and then Renault. Ayrton was unlucky not to secure his and the team's maiden victory after just a handful of races in Monaco but the race was stopped as he closed in on leader Alain Prost due to heavy rain. Ayrton stayed with the team for only one season before moving on to Lotus and securing his first F1 race victory. Toleman tried to prevent Senna leaving but the young Brazilian was so focused on rising to the top he simply said if you stop me from leaving I will retire.
