Are F1 drivers given 'navigational' instructions like in WRC?

I am only a Professional Karting and single seater driver, not a formula 1 driver, and I have seem to memorized all the F1 tracks, using simulators only. They do about 14 hours per weekend on a track. I do about 30 minutes on the PS3, and i can do it with my eyes closed. Those F1 drivers are special people also. So they can practically drive the car and shift with their eyes closed.
