That was running back/kick returner Eddie Macon, a 2nd round draft choice of the Bears in 1952 from the University of Pacific. Macon played two seasons with the Bears, 1952 and 1953.
There are several team doctors and trainers for the Chicago Bears. I know one of the team doctors and he is a spinal surgeon, and he is always on the sideline at the Bears home games in case of a head neck or back injury.
