The soccer player was given a yellow card for a foul tackle on his opponent.
Foul
Foul, abusive, or threatening language is an automatic send off (red card). If it is a player, then that player may not be replaced.
Substitute plays in his spot.
There is no such foul mentioned in the laws. It does sound to be a term that could be used to describe an out-of-control player.
it is a reprimand given to a player in sports such as soccer, rugby, gaelic, ect for committing a bad foul in the sport or for bad sportsmanship and can result in a player being suspended from a sport. When a ref shows a player the 'Red Card' he is sending him off, the player will not be allowed to take any further part in that game.

Professional foul
Depending on the level of the foul or bad behavior (taking someone out by purposely harming them), a player may receive a yellow or a red card. The red card is more serious.
A player typically receives a Red Card for a serious foul after already having received a Yellow Card. In the event of a foul that is considered malicious or otherwise severe, a Red Card can be given after the first offense. Both instances are at the discretion of the head official.
