The Bolshevik Party led the October Revolution of 1917. There was another revolution in 1917 called the February Revolution, the the October Revolution is commonly referred to as the Russian Revolution, because it resulted in the establishment of the Communist government and the Soviet Union.

No, he wasn't. During the February and October Revolutions he was a high Bolshevik Party functionary, but he had no power over the country of Russia during the Revolution. After the Revolution, when he was made General Secretary of the Communist Party, he began to accumulate more and more power, but he still did not become the dictator we know him as until about 1932.
The Bolshevik Party under Vladimir Lenin renamed itself the Communist Party in March 1918 after the Russian Revolution. They did this because Lenin had outlawed all other political parties, especially the other Marxist/Communist ones. So they did.
The Communists were a political faction in imperial Russia, until they took over parts of the country in the revolution of 1917. However, Russia had by then already exited WW1.
Vladimir Ulianov(better known as Lenin) was the leader of the party that eventually became the Communist Party of the USSR. At the time of the revolutions (there was more than one during the early 20th century, with the October Revolution being the final one) they were known as Bolsheviks.
