There are several attributes of a Golf ball that make it fly farther than a tennis ball.
A golf ball is smaller than a tennis ball, so it has less surface area, which means it experiences less drag (air resistance) as it hurtles through the air. Furthermore, the tennis ball's surface is fuzzy, which increases its air resistance, whereas a golf ball's jacket is hard and dimpled, which improves its aerodynamic properties, increasing its distance when struck. Many different dimple patterns and designs have been experimented with to increase a golf ball's "length." A golf ball is more rigid and elastic than a tennis ball. It resists deformation much more than a tennis ball does, and when deformed, it returns to its original shape more quickly. This means that more kinetic energy -- of the club in the case of the golf ball and the racket for a tennis ball -- is transferred to the ball to propel it and is not wasted on deforming it. Incidentally, experiments have proved that the golf ball is the fastest moving object in all of sports (not counting the shooting sports, of course). ADDITION: The ball in JAI ALIA is the fastest ball in sports.
Because unless the Earth is really wet, there is no cushion to slow the ball enough to stop the momentum caused by gravity. Sort of like the difference between why your head doesn't bounce on a pillow but it does on tile floor. The lower the ball goes into on the ground, the farther it will roll. And the harder the ground is, the farther it will roll.
Let's assume that your golf ball is 1.680 inches in diameter - the smallest size golf ball allowed in certain golfing associations. Then we know that the circumference of the golf ball will be the distance it would roll in one complete rotation. Circumference = pi * diameter Circumference = 3.14 * 1.680 in Circumference = 5.2752 inches = the distance that this particular golf ball would roll
Far away.
In other words, does a golf ball roll faster up a hill? No obviously not. It would roll faster down a slope, it's called gravity.
It depends on how you hit it. If the green speed is a 16 don't hit the ball hard or it will roll off. If the green is a 12 it will not roll as much as a 16. Most professional courses are 16's.
You hit the ball with a putter, normally on the green, and try to roll it into the hole.
horribly
Could be when you hit a golf ball higher than you usually do and it goes not as far or maybe as far as your usual distance.
very far
if the golf ball is hit into the air, the forces on the golf ball are pushing (when the golf ball is hit) and air resistance (when it is flying through the air). when the ball hits the ground and starts to roll, the only force acting on it is friction.

A backspin in golf refers to placing spin on a golf ball so that when it lands (typically on the green, based on the nature of this shot) it does not continue to roll forwards but instead either stops or actually moves backwards. This is obviously done because the golfer does not want the ball to roll off the back of the green but instead "sit down" on the putting surface. You can achieve backspin on a golf ball typically by placing the ball backwards in the stance so that the club head strikes the ball on a downward path, forcing the ball to roll up the clubface and thereby spinning it backwards. This 'backspin' will continue as the ball moves through the air and come into play when it lands. The higher the loft of the club the easier it is to create backspin.
it protects the direction and width of how far the ball is going.
