Tennis tickets, as well as for many other sports, at any venue are expensive primarily due to the limited number of seats (i.e., supply versus demand), along with the amount of money given to players (or, for college athletics, the amount given to the schools), which comes, in part, from "gate" revenues. Wimbledon is a special case in that Centre Court has very few seats (15,000) compared to almost any other sports venue, to the point that a certain number of tickets are sold as 'debentures' on the London (Stock) Market at very hefty prices.
Tickets for the Wimbledon tennis grand slam can be purchased at various online ticket selling outlets. To guarantee you are getting legitmate tickets buy from the official Wimbledon website.

from the tickets sold.
the tickets were expensive. How expensive depended on how luxurious the room was.
Because the Olympics is a very special event so that's why
Although there are many tickets, there are not enough to meet the demand for them. So as there are not enough tickets for everyone that wants to go, they become expensive, as people try to sell them for as much as they can.
Usually concert tickets are very expensive because some 'front row' tickets that you get means that you get to meet the band. When I went on ticket master to find maroon 5 tickets, the tickets were up to $600! I know pretty out of there. But when I looked at the details I saw that you actually get to meet the band backstage! That's probably why they are so expensive, I would recommend ticket master for you. Some people set up there own websites and sell there tickets twice that there supposed to be! Hope I helped ~Ejhall02
From the research I have done, it appears to me that there is no way of pre-booking tickets, unless they are debenture seats, which are the most expensive tickets. But by entering the public ballot you can win tickets, but it is unlikely that you will win and you do not get to decide what day you want to go on. The only real option for getting tickets is to queue up on the day. But if you want to buy centre court or court 1 tickets, for the best chance of actually purchasing ticket, you will need to queue up the night before. *
