He never held an olympic record. He does not have any indiviual medals in the olympics. He did, however, once hold the world record at 9.77 seconds. Since it got broken first by Usian bolt in 2008, his personal best is 9.72, matching Usian Bolt's first world record time. (it was never a world record as Usian Bolt ran a 9.69 in Beijing in August and Asafa Powell did the 9.72 in September of the same year.)

The Fastest 100 metres dash runner is Asafa Powell (Italian)
while he has been a world class 100m runner he has lost just 1 100m race, to Asafa Powell shortly before the Beijing Olympics, 9.88 to 9.89 I think. I recall Bolt should have won, with about 10m to go, Bolt thinks Powell is too far ahead and stops running hard, he underestimates how much Powell loses ground late in the race and Powell giveing everything and dipping to the line just holds off Bolt's jogging.
As of 2004, the world men's record holder in the 100 meters was Usain Bolt, who set the record on May 31, 2008, with a time of 9.72 seconds. However, in 2004, the record was held by Asafa Powell, who had set a time of 9.77 seconds on June 14, 2005. Bolt would later go on to break Powell's record multiple times in subsequent years.
