The first Golf cart in the US to be sold was sold to Andrew Denver Coppidge of Topeka, KS on March 27, 1943 by Golf-Cart Industries of Kansas City, KS. The golf cart was powered by gasoline and had a 2 HP motor. The top speed was 4 mph and the body was made entirely of wood. The wheels were solid steel discs.
