In Golf, a sand save is a statistic. When a player plays a round of golf, on one particular hole, if a player hits his ball into a bunker and still makes par or better, that is a sand save. If a player hits into a bunker one four holes, and make par or better on two of those holes, his sand save percentage is 50 percent, this is kept as a running total for a whole season, and can be used to show a player's form and also rank them.
