I am a female almost 36 years old and I just completed my first half marathon. I ran it in 2 hours and 33 minutes (11.5 minute miles). My only goal was to stay at a slow jog through the whole race slowing down to walk only long enough to hydrate.
Depends how fast you run, you'd imagine.Usain Bolt at full speed would do a half marathon in less than an hour.If you walk it, you'd do it in about 2-2.25 hours. It depends on how fast you 'run', if at all.So I'd go for about 1.5-2 hours.
He walked for 12,600 seconds @3,600 seconds per hour.
Yes, a person can walk in the Phoenix marathon. In addition to runners, people walk and even get pushed in wheelchairs.
For your first half marathon, probably 10-13 minutes per mile, or if you are walking a little bit too, 13-16 minutes per mile. If you are a super amazing runner and/or have run a half-marathon before, then the sky's the limit.
Many of the top sporting good stores sell running shoes that would be considered good choices for a marathon. Marathon runners usually need to replace their running shoes more frequently than people who run or walk on a treadmill, for example.
You can walk in most marathons, incl. the NYC Marathon, as long as you finish within the courses time limit. For the NYC Marathon this is 8.5 hours. Larger marathons usually start runners in "waves" based on your anticipated completion time. If you plan on walking, for safety reasons it's best to start your race with the last wave.
You should be able to jog / walk a marathon if you have no major medical problems ..... running one or finishing in any kind of decent time would require lots of training unless you are already a marathon conditioned athlete.
