∙ 13y agoAs far as i know, when i was 10 i saw an average of perhaps a bracket of 1:45-1:55.
the really fast kid (me!:) got a 1:36.
Come on - 1.36 fast for a 10yo boy to run 400?!?!?!
My kid ran a set of 4 x 500 with only 2 min rests the other day and each of the 500s was faster than that.
In Sydney the best 10yos go through the first lap of an 800 in 1.11 or so. And one of them would run 1.02-1.03 right now for 400.
A solid time is under 1.20 I guess, but that's pretty pedestrian for the decent ones.

∙ 14y agoi would say in the 15-20 range would be great, or anything under 30

∙ 9y agoA good time for a 10 year old boy in the 400 meter dash would be as close to 1 minute as possible. A good time for competing would be under 1 minute.

∙ 11y agoA good time for a ten year old is around 15 seconds an average time would be around 17 and an excellent time would be 13 to 14 seconds

I think it's an ok time because when no was 10 I ran a 14 flat in the 100m. So I think it's a slower time but i guess it's ok.
15 seconds would probably be good for a 10 year old, or maybe in the 14s.
Good time for average 16 year old boy: 12.5s Average time for average 16 year old boy: 13s Average time for a good 16 year old boy: 11.5s Good time for a good 16 year old boy 11s
My 7 year old runs in Under 8s her 100m time is 21.02
The world champion in the event that year was Tyson Gay of the USA.
It depends on the child. If hes fast or slow. If you average 15 mph in a 100m sprint then your time will be 14.91 seconds. That's pretty impressive if a 5 year old can run that fast.
For an 8 year old the 100m is not a sprint; it is an endurance event. Any child, male or female, who can out run their fellow children aged 8 will most likely become a very good middle distance runner when older. Basically, sprint times run at this age are meaningless. Taking part and trying to win is all that matters to kids of this age.
its NT but im 10 and i cn run it in 15 seconds
its an ok time. i'd say it is abit better than average, but to run competitively it is just good enough but if you wish to go further in 100m its not fast enough. im the same age as you and my pb is 11.00s and i just missed out in qualifying to run nationally that's why i have moved to 200m.
i would say a good 100m time for a 10 year old boy is around 16-17secs. I am an 11 year old girl and ran the 100m in 15.9 secs.
I do 14:89 but 15 or 16 seconds is also good
No.
