Unfortunately there are no gymnastics clubs that are free in Bronx, New York but, if you are looking for cheap gymnastics instruction or for joining a team or recreational your local YMCA should have a program for that.
yes the floor excersise involves lots of tumbling. If you have never done gymnastics before I would recommend doing a recreational gymmnastics class and taking tumbling in addition to that if you can. But if you can't, rec gymnastics would be the best choice because you will learn new skills on all the events. Plus, you will get lots of tumbling practice in the class, too. Good luck!
In recreational gymnastics, you don't compete and just do it for fun and to stay fit, but when you compete, you're on Team gymnastics and you have different levels that you compete in for different skills. From levels 1-6, you compete compulsory routines- that the USA Gymnastics have made up, but when you get to level 7-10, you make up your own routines. After level 10, you're considered to be elite.
It's all in how you do it. I don't personally have experience with competitive gymnastics, but considering its often a 20-hour/week thing, I would imagine it is. I did recreational gymnastics for 10 years, 1-4 hours a week, and I didn't find it stressful, because I was free to go at my own pace.
Gymnasics doesn't really have leagues, it has levels. When you are little, you go into recreational gymnastics. (this is for canada.) and then gymcat (beginner advanced expert) and then you go into Provincial 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 then nationals and then you can go internationally
There's a 12,000 square foot facility located conveniently in Hillsboro called The Gym Nest. They take children from 3-18 and will properly train them in either recreational or competitive gymnastics.
Be a little more specific it do you mean what is a gym/acro series, beam series, or floor series. But i have never heard of a gymnastic sequence. And I am in Recreational Competitive Gymnastics.
Nope! Some gyms have adult gymnastics programs, for recreational practice and sometimes even competetive teams if you are ready for that.
You learn skills like forward & backward rolls, cartwheels, simple dance elements, jumps, and on bars pullovers and back hip circles.
Most say that being taller can affect your skills with gymnastics. This is only half true. Most men are taller than women, and they compete in the Olympics. Every body is different, and each (being tall and small) has its advantages. If you want to try competitive gymnastics, sometimes being tall will make it tough. Sometimes you may be moved up a division due to your height. If you are doing recreational gymnastics, it will not affect you much at all.
no people do not have to do gymnastics
it depends on what gymnastics you do if it is rhythmic gymnastics then yes if it is just gymnastics then no
