The Layout Position, where the body is stretched completely straight.
The Tuck, where the knees are bent up towards the chest.
The Pike, where the body is bent into a 90 degree angle, or bent in half, with the legs straight.
These are the main positions used in tumbling.
There is also the Straddle, where the legs are shoulder width or more apart.

There are 4 main skills in gymnastics, they are: The Vault, The Balance Beam, The Floor, and The Uneven Bars
There is a *lot* of terminology in gymnastics. I couldn't possibly list it all. I suggest Googling a gymnastics dictionary. What do you mean by basic skills? Basic skill for pre-competitive? Level 4? Level 8? Level 10?

In gymnastics, you must show the utmost flexibility skills. I took gymnastics lessons for 5 years then moved on to yoga. The gymnastics portion of the Olympics was phenomenal.
