FOR GIRLS

I usually like to wear visors, too or baseball hats to keep the sun out of your eyes when you serve (or you can wear sunglasses for that matter) and so you are less likely to get sunburned whether you have sunscreen on or not. I also like to wear tennis skirts (skorts) or Sophie shorts (not bootie shorts because you can't hold any tennis balls!) with tennis tank tops i get online or from stores like sports chalet. But really, just anything you can move around in like Elieshevs said. IT IS MOST IMPORTANT T HAVE A TENNIS RACKET, TENNIS SHOES AND TENNIS BALLS to play because otherwise, you either can't play if you don't have a racket or balls) or you might fall or stub you toe in flip flops (which i have done before- 8 years of tennis teaches you many lessons!) I personally enjoy the Serena Williams collection. She's my favorite tennis player and i LOVE her clothes she wears in her matches. i'm not sure if she has children sizes though.

FOR BOYS

Same with the hats (or maybe bandannas like Rafael Nadal wears; all the guys on my team wear them) and Basketball shorts, with a comfortable baggy or shirts like under amour or something. WEAR TENNIS SHOES AND BRING A RACKET WITH SOME TENNIS BALLS too! You'll need those;)

As with any other sport, people wear tennis outerwear that is appropriate to the venue and environment, which is usually short-sleeved shirts/blouses, shorts/dresses, tennis or similar shoes/sneakers with socks, and, depending on the player, wrist and/or head bands or similar to absorb and wipe-away sweat, and, possibly some jewelry.

Female tennis clothes are sometimes full short dresses. They are usually made out of material that absorbs sweat easily. Dresses and skirts will generally have built in spandex shorts underneath where they keep balls. The spandex shorts make up for the lack of pockets. The ball stays tightly wrapped by the leg.

Females can also play in shorts that also have built in spandex.

There are no standard tops for females. They come in short sleeves and no sleeves. They may or may not be racer-back. Sometimes shirts are collared. Tops are often made out of the same material as the bottom to keep players dry.

Male tennis plays wear shorts with pockets to keep their tennis balls in. Their shirts may also be short sleeved or sleeveless. They will also often be made out of an absorbent material.

If you are not a professional tennis player, though, you can really go out to the courts in your old workout clothes. As an add-on, separate spandex (biker) shorts are EXTREMELY helpful for girls who do not often have pockets built into their shorts.
