In competition, each serves twice until it's 10-10 (or deuce). Then each serves once until someone is two points ahead. No courtesy serves, loser serves, etc.

Each player has two serves.
Service alternates between opponents until one player scores 11 points, unless both players or pairs score 10 points (called deuce).
If both players reach 10 points, then service alternates after each point, until one player gains a two point lead.
When the rules of table tennis were changed in 2001 to make each game up to 11 points instead of 21 points, the number of serves that each player had was also changed.
Now, each player has two serves each, whereas in the old 21 point system, each player had five serves each.
Yes... each time the ball hits the net, on serve, and hits the other side, it is a let.
The person serving is the one who starts the point with a serve (hitting the ball out of their hand). The service change is when the other player starts the point (serves). Multiple service changes happen in a single game allowing each player opportunities to serve.
Answer 1 - If you are referring to the rules of table tennis...The official table tennis rules are a comprehensive set of rules and regulations which are designed to cover any eventuality which may arise during a game. These rules are reviewed annually by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).Throughout the history of table tennis the ITTF have amended the service rules many times. As the best players develop ever more elaborate service techniques in order to gain an advantage over their opponent, the ITTF respond by amending the service rules in an attempt to reduce their effectiveness. However, as any table tennis player will tell you, this is a never ending process.Answer 2 - If you are referring to playing a game of table tennis...When the rules of table tennis were changed in 2001 to make each game up to 11 points instead of 21 points, the number of serves that each player had was also changed. Now, each player has two serves each, whereas in the old 21 point system, each player had five serves each.Service alternates between opponents until one player scores 11 points, unless both players or pairs score 10 points (called deuce). If both players reach 10 points, then service alternates after each point, until one player gains a two point lead.
Table tennis is a sport where each level is a progression of skills. The level of attack in table tennis means the players have reached the level where the attack takes priority over the offense.
There are no 'faults' in tabletennis. If you miss the first serve, you lose the point. However, having said that, if you serve a "let" - where the ball plays truly on each side of the net, but touches the net in its travels across the net, you are permitted to retake your serve to make it a 'clean' serve that does not touch the net.
To play tennis, you need a tennis court, a tennis racket for each player, and a tennis ball. If you are playing singles, one player stands on each side of the net, for doubles, two players are on each side of the net. Players hit the ball with the racket back and forth over the net.
to decide who will serve first, both players go to the net, each player chooses which side they want, one player spins their racket and whichever side it lands on that's the player that serves first
Love, in tennis or table tennis zero or nothing means love
The same player serves for all of each game and they swap on a rotation basis until the end.
If you are playing to 11 each player gets two serves then switch. If you are playing to 21 then you switch off every 5 serves. Those are two simple scores to play to. ( At my house, once the game gets to match point we let the person who has less points serve. ) ( We do this because at my house, in order to become the winner you must win by two points. )
In the Olympics, the match is a best 4 of 7 games.
The official rules of table tennis state that you have two serves, and then your opponent has two serves. However, if the score reaches 10-10, each player has only one serve each until the game is won by two clear points. So if you happen to be serving last at game/match point ... all the better!
