∙ 15y agoKinetic energy is the energy a moving body - in this case, the Bowling ball - has. The ball actually has two forms of kinetic energy: rotational and translational. The rotational energy is the energy of it's spin, and the translational energy is the energy of it's motion towards the pins.

∙ 13y agoWell, right before you are about to push it or while it is sitting at the top of a hill, the ball has potential energy. This means the ball has to potential to move or roll. This can be seen as a roller coaster at the tallest point of the ride. Then, when it is rolling, the ball has kinetic energy. At least until the forces of gravity and friction are able to stop its kinetic energy.

Because the ball is rolled down a specific lane or alley towards the pins.
(a) The bowling ball rolling down the alley has kinetic energy due to its motion. (b) The book sitting on the top shelf of the bookcase has potential energy due to its position above the ground.
It does act upon it. If gravity weren't acting upon the ball, it would float into the air instead of remaining on the alley floor.

Anything with wheels, such as a car, would be an example of use of rolling kinetic friction.
the second one because the little friction turns to thermal energy while the first one... no energy transformations are occuring. except potential energy
