His full name is Rafael Nadal Parera. Although 'Parera' is similar to the often-Jewish

name 'Perera', the two names have nothing to do with each other.

The bottom line is that "roots" have ever been relevant only to the Nazis.
An individual is Jewish if either his mother is Jewish or he converts. If she
isn't and he didn't, then he's not. No amount of detective work into his
facial structure, skin color, attitudes, smell, sympathies, accent, nose, or
even his name can answer the question. There are plenty of Jewish Smiths
and Catholic Finkelsteins. If you want to know, then the only reliable way
is to man up and go ask him. And the irony is that if you're sufficiently poised
and confident to do that, then it's probably of no importance to you.
