To answer this question, remember the NBA is divided into two conferences: Eastern and Western. This is beside the point but geography must have escaped the NBA. Here's an example, last time I checked a map New Orleans was located closer to New York than Los Angeles but to answer your question.
To start simply, Western conference teams play Eastern conference teams twice a year. The New York Knicks will play the Los Angeles Lakers once in New York and then the second time in Los Angeles.
Within the conference, the Western conference teams will play others in the conference 3-4 times before the end of the season. So the Sacramento Kings will play the Phoenix Suns 3-4 times a year alternating between Sacramento and Phoenix. The NBA also factors that 41 games will be played on the road and 41 at home. I think it also is a factor what events are happening at certain arenas during the year why some teams face each 3 or 4 times. It basically balances out over the years.
Hope this helps!
First, there are the Conferences (i.e. Eastern Conference and Western Conference) then there are Divisions (Pacific, Northwest and Southwest, Atlantic, Central, Southeast respectively)
Any given team will play other teams in the opposing conference twice; once at home and once away. Next, a team in within the conference (but not in said teams division) will be played up to 4 times. Lastly divisional games which will pit the two teams 4 times a year with both having two home games.

There are no NFL teams that play home games in a different country. There are a couple games every year that are played in different countries though
Yes. Each season teams will play 15 to 18 games against teams from the other league.
No one. Players are not allowed to play for two different teams in the same game in professional baseball.
A team (such as the Indians) plays at least a maximum of 18 games against teams in their own division that's in their own league. In regards to the teams in the other divisions in their own league, a team plays a team from another division a maximum of 7 games. All teams in the other divisions have a chance to play to play this team 7 times so the Indians could play the Yankees 7 times and the Red Sox 7 times. When it comes to the Interleague Play series, a team plays a opposing team from the other league a maximum of 3 times however some teams have a special rivalry which means they have each other a maximum of 6 teams like the Yankees and the Mets can play each other a maximum number of 6 times during their Interleague Play series because of their rivalry.
The NCAA had at that time a 40 team tournament and from there grew. * 1979: 40 teams * 1980-1982: 48 teams * 1983: 52 teams (four play-in games before the tournament) * 1984: 53 teams (five play-in games before the tournament) * 1985-2000: 64 teams * 2001- : 65 teams (with an "opening round" game to determine whether the 64th or 65th team plays in the first round)
