The 1969 World Series team had Ed Charles and Wayne Garrett. The 1986 World Series team had Ray Knight and Howard Johnson. Hubie Brooks was a fan favorite before being included in a trade for Gary Carter. Edgardo Alfonso was also a favorite before being moved to second base. Robin Ventura had some very memorable Mets moments. And Todd Zeile and Ty Wigginton were holding down the spot before Wright became the Mets first All Star at that position.
