Although Billy Burch of the New York Americans was raised in Toronto, he was born in Yonkers, New York. He became the second player to ever win the Lady Byng in 1927. Frank Nighbor of the Ottawa Senators won the trophy when it was first awarded in 1925, as well as in 1926. Burch also played for the Hamilton Tigers, Boston Bruins, and Chicago Blackhawks during a career that spanned 11 seasons. Upon retiring in 1933, Burch was the last remaining player in the NHL to have played for the Tigers.
