Oscar Reed was the starting halfback for the Vikings that year. He led the team with 639 yards rushing. Bill Brown and Dave Osborn helped shoulder the load with 263 and 261 yards respectively. The Vikings greatly upgraded the running back position by drafting Chuck Foreman the next year who led the team in rushing for the next six seasons.
