The chariot's first appearance was in ancient Egypt perhaps as much as two thousand years before Rome or Greeks became part of what we call ancient history.
the chariot is an invention that horses pulled along it was the car of the olden days
The chariot was developed from 1700BCE to 500BCE. The oldest chariots have been found in the Ural Mountains. The parts of development of the chariot was the horse, the wheel, and the use of the bow. It is not clear why humans invented the chariot before riding the horse. The bow was invented around the second millennium BCE. The first reference to charioteers in the civilized world is from Syria around 1800BCE. The Hittites established their first kingdom with the help of chariots in 1700BCE, the Hurrians used it to penetrate the Middle East, and the Hyskos in 1650BCE. So, as you can see they did not invent the chariot, but were somewhat late to the party.

the war chariot was first invented by the Hyksos...somewhere around the 17th to 18th Dynasty of New Kingdom Egypt. They used the war chariot which overpowered Egypt, allowing them to conquer and establish an empire for the next 100 years...Another version of the invention of the war chariot is that the war chariot was invented in 1500 B.C.E by the Hittite empire.Source: The World's History, by Howard SpodekSince this was so long ago, there is no definite information as to who invented the war chariot and when. What we DO know, is that the Hyksos had it, that the Hittites had it, and that future empires had it.

There is great debate whether the Assyrians, Egyptians, or Hittites invented the chariot. Although, the chariot originated in Mesopotamia around 3000 BC. You decide.
Athena invented the chariot. Poseidon had to fix it with horses that he invented though.
