The first ever NFL game was held in 1920 in Dayton, Ohio between the Dayton Triangles and the Columbus Panhandles. Dayton won 14-0. The first game played that used players that were paid for playing was in 1892 between the Allegheny Athletic Association and the Pittsburgh Athletic Club played in Pennsylvania.
