Ben Johnson took stanozolol, a drug which improves muscle bulk, strength and power. The 100m gold medal that he won, and the record for 100m that he broke were taken away.
Ben Johnson ran a 9.79 in the 100 meter dash, braking his own world record, in the finals in Seoul. A subsequent uranalysis showed stanozolol in his system. He was disqualified and, when he admitted to steroid use in 1987 when setting the world record, that record was erased.
9.79 seconds. At the time, this would have been the world record but it was found to be drug assisted so it did not count.
