DL Tim Krumrie of the Cincinnati Bengals suffered a fractured fibula and tibia in Super Bowl XXIII against the 49ers. The instant replay angle showing the injury was so graphic, Krumrie's foot almost turned completely around, I still shudder when thinking about it. He needed surgery and a steel rod was implanted. He played another six seasons with the steel rod in his leg.
