On the East Coast winter is definitely the more consistent season with favourable offshore winds quite often offshore all day, also it has the big groundswells. Although these are the most consistent months (June-August) you can still come across flat spells. When Surfing in Winter on the East Coast the further south ou go the colder the water will but usually a 3/2 sealed steamer will have you up and down the coast.
