"if you are talking about AFL football then Afl is older then soccer
The first game if soccer was played in 1872, November 30th
The first game of football was played in 1858, August 7th"
WRONG. The dates are right, officially, but the actual game of Association Football (Soccer) is far older, the OFFICIAL rules were made during this period; and although the first official game of American Football was played "first", American Football is actually a VARIATION of Association Football AND Rugby Football. So how can it be OLDER if it's based on Association Football? Foolish child.
It depends on what you mean by soccer vs football. If you are referring to the beautiful game. Most countries and territories call it football or something similar to the name. However, some countries say soccer(Association Football) because they have other sports or versions of football, such as American Football, Canadian Football, Australian Football, Gaelic Football and Rugby Football.
Association Football (aka Soccer) was invented in England.
Soccer --> Rugby --> American Football
Its called Football, not Soccer. Football was developed in Britain, not America. Spain developed football after we introduced it to them.
soccer... more commonly spelled futbol. Internationally, the game of American football is known as 'gridiron'. The vast majority of the world calls soccer football. Only in North America is football called soccer and gridiron called football.
Football.
Australian football league isnt a sport, its an organization. And im 99% sure soccer was "invented" before football
Whether you are referring to American Football or Association Football, the answer is no. Dr. James Naismith invented the sport of basketball in 1891, the sport of American Football was introduced 2 years earlier in 1889, and Association Football (or soccer) came about approximately half a century before that.
Football was founded On November 6, 1869 (Or around then) Rugby was around 1820 So Rugby is older.
Football (Soccer)
Americans call soccer soccer, and football football!
soccer = football "a game of soccer" = "a football match"

Football (soccer)
soccer is American for football
football which they call soccer! football to them is soccer!
Soccer comes from Association Football, if they just called it football then it would get mixed up with American football. Association Football is abbreviated assoc which then changed to soccer. I call it football
