Hockey is a Religion in all of Canada. As far as the United States, Hockey is most popular in states like Michigan, Minnesota, New York, and all the rest of your Northern States. There are hockey programs in Southern California and in Arizona that are growing, however, I would personally imagine it very difficult for a kid to be motivated to play Hockey in a state such as Arizona which is well...desert, than a kid playing Hockey in Winnipeg.

Ness graduated high school one year early in 2008 and now attends the University of Minnesota and plays defense for the Gopher hockey team. In his senior season, Ness accumulated 28 goals, 44 assists for 72 points in 31 games for Roseau and led them to a 4th place finish in the Minnesota State Tournament with a 29-2 record.
