Justice Byron "Whizzer" White played for the Pittsburgh Pirates (now Steelers) in 1938, leading the league in rushing his rookie year. After attending England's Oxford University in 1939, he returned to the United States and joined the Detroit Lions, where he played in 1940 and 1941. In all, White played three seasons of pro football.
