Ontario by a landslide past and present! NHL all time stats as of 2010, born in Ontario vs. born in Quebec ... every province will dispute the odd player ie. Steve Yzerman who i did not include in Ontario's Stats because he was born in BC even though he played more years of minor hockey in Ontario and was drafted from the OHL. total players = 2056 Ontario - 754 Quebec - 511 Alberta - 477 Saskatchewan - 359 Manitoba - 325 British Columbia ... >1000 carreer points = 26 Ontario - 15 Quebec >500 career goals = 13 Ontario - 10 Quebec > 500 career assists = 43 Ontario - 17 Quebec >+100 (+/-) career = 66 Ontario - 30 Quebec Minesota is the state with the most NHL players all time at 206 (1/10 the number of Ontario hockey players) Per Capita I'd bet on Saskatchewan.
Minnesota does, and it really isn't all that close. Minnesota has the most registered youth hockey players (53,450 in 2010. Next closest was Michigan with 51,404 registered youth players), produces the most Division 1 hockey players (currently 326 players, or 20.36% of all D1 players. Next closest is Massachusetts with 14.81%), and produces the most pro hockey players (Minnesota has produced 216 players all-time. Massachusetts is next closest with 168). This is why Minnesota is known as the "State of Hockey".
Ice hockey is a game played on a 200 x 85 ft dimension ice with five players (six including the goalie) on each team. Players must skate across the ice with the puck on their stick in attempt to score a goal. By the end of the game (three periods in varying amounts of time depending on the league), the team with the most points wins.
