The oldest player is now Chris Chelios who signed with the Atlanta Threashers a few months ago, and is playing for their AHL affiliate currently seeing as how the Thrashers didn't make the playoffs. He was born on 01-25-1962, making him 48.

The only player to play at an older age in the NHL than Chelios was Gordie Howe who played into his 50s...Chelios mainly plays in the minors now, so it's safe to say Mark Recchi is the oldest old man still playing like a 20 year old in the pros.
