I believe the Chicago White Sox did

I know for a fact that the Los Angeles Dodgers have done it. They did it in the 9th inning on Monday September 18th 2006 while playing the San Diego Padres. Jeff Kent and J.D. Drew opened the ninth with homers off San Diego's Jon Adkins. Russell Martin and Marlon Anderson then both knocked it out the park on the first two pitches thrown by Trevor Hoffman. The Minnesota Twins also Did it on May 2nd 1964 in the 11th inning to defeat Kansas City.

  • July 31, 1963 -- The Cleveland Indians did it in the sixth inning against the Los Angeles Angels. Homers by Woodie Held, Pedro Ramos, Tito Francona and Larry Brown.
  • May 2, 1964 -- The Minnesota Twins did it in the 11th inning against the Athletics at Kansas City. Homers by Tony Oliva, Bob Allison, Jimmie Hall and Harmon Killebrew.
  • September 18, 2006 -- The Los Angeles Dodgers hit four consecutive homers in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the San Diego Padres 9-9. Homers by Jeff Kent, J.D. Drew, Russell Martin and Marlon Anderson. The Dodgers eventually won the game 11-10 on a two-run Nomar Garciaparra home run in the11th inning.

How many outs are in a baseball inning?

3 per team IMPROVED ANSWER: In a normal 9-inning baseball game, "3 per team" would be correct. However, there are many games when both teams do not have to bat in the ninth inning, thus reducing the number of outs in that inning to zero for one of the teams (the case would apply to a home team that is leading after the other team registers 3 outs in the top half of the ninth inning). The home team would have won the game if still ahead after the other team bats in their half of the ninth. There is no need to bat in the bottom of the ninth.
