The Atlanta Falcons have only competed in 2 NFC Championship games. The first was against the Minnesota Vikings in 1998 where the won 30-27 (OT) @MIN. There second appearance was a loss in 2004 to the Philadelphia Eagles 27-10 @PHI. To this day, an NFC Championship game has never taken place in Atlanta.

Although the Vikings won one NFL Championship in 1969, that was before the merger of the NFL and AFL in 1970, which accounts for the reason why they have won three NFC Championships but lost four Super Bowls. (No, I'm not trying to rub it in. Just giving the facts. I actually like the Vikings.)
