Football is a PURE American sport invented in November 1869 on a flat plot of ground.Football is played on a field 360 by 160 feet.The longer boundary lines are sidelines,while the shorter boundary lines are end lines.Each team has 11 players on the field at a time.Usually there are more players off the field.The players include:
Offense: Includes linebackers and the quarterback.
Quarterback's goal: throwing or running the ball into the end zone.
Linebacker's goal: To successfully catch the ball and avoid getting tackled.
Defense: Includes defensive linemen.
Main Goal: To tackle the quarterback and steal the ball.
Other goals:
To push linebackers out of bounds.
To tackle linebackers.
Special Teams: Goal: To block the ball from entering the goal and run the ball to the other end zone for 2 points.
Scoring:
1 Touchdown (getting to the end zone): 6 points
1 Extra point for kicking the ball into the goal after a touchdown
1 Field Goal (kicking the ball into the goal on 4th down):3 points
1 Safety (When one of the defensive team's player runs randommly into their own end zone.):2 points to the attacking team
