Basketball was invented by James Naismith. He was a 'gym teacher'. One rainy day, he was tired of playing the same games over and over and decided to take a ball and throw it into a peach basket. This, he thought, is fun so he played it with his students, etc.,etc... (at least that's how i THINK it was. That's how I remmember it anyway.) Glad to help! ;)
