Most Expensive SportHorse Racing is by far the most expensive sport in the world. Known as 'The Stock Market of Sports'. This requires the most money for mantaining and the keep towards the animals and even the Jockies' diets in order to keep fit. It is more of a way of life, and the expense of a life for a sport that is watched and proclaimed around the world.

*Note: Racing such as Nascar and Formula One are not recognized as sports, being that physical exertion is not necessary, which is the same reason why Video Games, etc are not as such either. There is a difference between a 'sport' and an 'event'.

Wrong completely.

Formula 1 and association football (a.k.a. soccer) when considering the top teams budgets.

F1 is a recognized global sport (maybe not or less in America) witch demand very high level fitness due to the high G forces, reaction times and very high dehydration (most severe in all sports).

Possibly air racing, since that requires special airplanes. Boat races require large sailboats, and auto racing requires special cars, mechanics, shops, and LOTS of tires.

In regards to the equipment needed: autoracing, yacht racing, sailing, mountaineering, aerobatics, and polo/horseracing.

Other expensive sports are Golf, shooting, combined driving, cycling, and hockey.

Polo is undoubtedly the most expensive genuine team sport, simply because a team of up a twelve polo ponies is extremely expensive to train, feed and transport. A polo pony uses far more food relatively speaking than a human, and is much heavier and consequently very costly to transport without damaging its health.

Also, many more ponies are needed for polo than players because on pony cannot play for more than seven minutes without physical problems.

Of team sports not involving horses, Ice Hockey and Lacrosse would be the most expensive since both require:

  • expensive sticks
  • helmets and face masks
  • padding
  • boots
that cheaper team sports like soccer, Basketball and volleyball lack.

i think foot ball but please dont write this on a test or a quiz because i am not sure if it is correct answer

In terms of cost to the individual player, I would suspect it's either polo or yacht racing.

Formula 1; it costs more per season than almost every other sport combined.

I don't think so my friend that F1 is the most expensive league.....try NFL...National Football League from USA.......F1 published its annual estimates of spending by Formula One teams is around $3 billion..NFL is worth $9 Billion...its big 9 B.. even Indian Preimeer League of cricket is worth $4.4 billion

That's the NFL overall revenue, not team budgets required to compete.
