One ( read women, men, elderly, children alike) should lift weights for the following reasons:
1.Weight bearing or resistance exercises strengthen muscles & tendons, increase bone density and make us strong.
2.Lifting weights regularly, working out each part, completely tones the body and gives it a sculptured look.
3.Doing weights increases our metabolism; that is to say losing our excess body weight is easier when we do lift weights regularly. Also goes to say that it will help in increased fat loss.
4. People who weight train do enjoy better quality of life and are productive for many many years thereby delaying the onset of aging . Degenerative diseases like Arthritis, osteoporosis can be kept at bay.
