No, boxing is not weight lifting
Lifting weights can improve one's lifestyle in many significant ways. First, weight-lifting increases strength, and increases a person's ability to lift higher amounts of weight. This could open physically intensive job opportunities to a person who would otherwise not be able to obtain the job. Weight lifting can also improve cardiovascular circulation, which in combination with increased strength, reflects better health. Better health can improve self esteem and leads to longer life. Additionally, because a person is more physically attractive when engaging in a workout regime, a person may be able to attract more physically attractive romantic interests.

To be honest, I'm just starting out in weight lifting. But to me, power, as it relates to weight lifting, is the ability to consistently lift a given amount of weight.
When beginning an exercise program, one should start with 3 sets of 10 reps with a certain weight amount. The weight should be gradually increased so the muscles do not become accustomed to the amount of weight being used. After a period of time, the sets and repetitions can be increased to improve the results of the exercise.
