There are many lengths, not all are the same. Some are a half mile, one mile and some are 2 miles.

it depends. Standardbred or throughbred? Which track? What race? Normally, it is either 1/2 mile (go around twice, 1 mile (go around only once) or 5/8 mile (go around once
