While doing sports is worthwhile for fitness and camaraderie, sports can be a problem for students who have problems prioritizing their schoolwork and the need for time to do nothing. In addition, some sports programs involve a lot of long distance travel, which involves investment of hours to get there in addition to the hours spent practicing. Fees and the costs of uniforms and shoes may also be higher what a student or his/her family can afford.
Schools that cater to bodily-kinesthetic intelligence often prioritize hands-on learning, movement-based activities, and kinesthetic exercises to engage students with this type of intelligence. These schools may offer classes like dance, sports, yoga, or theater, along with opportunities for students to apply their learning through physical activities. Additionally, schools may provide special accommodations, such as fidget tools or standing desks, to support students with bodily-kinesthetic strengths.
Assessment plays a crucial role in student learning by providing feedback on their progress and understanding of the material. It helps students to identify areas of strength and weakness, allowing them to focus on areas that need improvement. Assessment also informs teachers on how to adjust their instruction to better meet the needs of their students.
It depends on the school and the public school district in your area. My understanding is that a co-op has to be formed. This is an official understanding between the administration of the two entities. For example, in our district, the public schools will only agree to co-op in sports in which they need players (e.g., wrestling and track) or that are highly individual (gymnastics, swimming). They will not sign a co-op for the more competitive sports in our area such as hockey, soccer, etc.
Boarding schools are more like a international private school. They have dress codes, and more advanced educations. They have dormitories which consists almost half of the students. Some students of he boarding schools are day students which means they live at their own houses but go to school by their parents. There are no school buses, but rather has a pick up time where parents pick up their children after sports. There are various types of sports, differentiated by seasons. Mostly on fall, there are volleyball, field hockey, etc. In winter, there as basketball, ice hockey, etc. In spring, there are tennis, etc. Also, for boarding schools, you need an interview and school tour to get in.
Extracurricular activities are activities or programs that fall outside the realm of regular academic curriculum. They can include sports, clubs, community service, arts, and other pursuits that provide students with opportunities to develop skills, pursue interests, and engage with their peers outside of the classroom.
