Typically programmers that work fulltime for a company work with a salary, which can range from $50,000 a year to upwards of $150,000, depending upon experience (of course) and location. Programmers in the New York City area would make more than a programmer in the Atlanta area, typically. As an example, I make approx. $90,000 a year in Atlanta, and I have approx. 10 years of experience. Non-salaried programmers, like contractors, will typically make between $30 to $75 dollars an hour.
