Soccer is the most popular sport in Mexico, followed by Baseball. Bullfighting is still somewhat popular in some regions and cities, such as Guanajuato, Puebla or Queretaro. However, this "sport" has been continuously criticized due to obvious animal cruelty, and the interest of the public has diminished accordingly.
It is a tradition brought by the Spanish conquistadors during the 16th century, being on par to other cultural traits 'exported' from Spain to Mexico such as language and religion.
