Go-Kan-Ryu Karate (GKR) is a traditional Japanese style of karate. GKR was founded by Robert Sullivan in Adelaide, South Australia. Robert first began training in the art of karate in 1964, and spent time training and teaching in both Japan and the USA before establishing GKR in 1984. GKR Karate is taught in a non-contact environment and promotes both character and physical development. GKR is a club for all ages and promotes self-defense, fitness, coordination, discipline, confidence and stress relief.

It's ME! Well for GKR Karate anyway. My name is Erica I'm-not-putting-my-last-name-down-for-sercurity-reasons. And I am WA, GKR's youngest black belt. I am 10 years old and live in Perth (Warnbro area). I train 3-5 days a week in hour long sweat sessions. You may think it's too much but when you enjoy it like me, it's nowhere near satisfactory. I just wanna make this short, but thanks for giving me a reason to boast! Bye!
It depends on the club. For example, in GKR International Karate Club, the order is white (10th kyu), yellow tip (9th kyu), yellow (8th kyu), orange (7th kyu), green (6th kyu) , blue (5th kyu), red (4th kyu), brown (3rd kyu), two black tips (2nd and 1st kyu), black (1st, 2nd, 3rd dan). However, in every club, the first belt is white and the last two are brown and black. It is not the belt which counts, its the grade.
Research has shown that the green belt is 7th belt that can be achieved in Karate. One must achieve each level in karate in order to move up to the next level. Prior to achieving the green belt one would have to earn a blue, then a yellow belt, orange belt, blue belt, purple belt, green with white stripes belt and the next step would be the green belt.
the next kaigan karate belt after white is orange
You don't master karate at brown belt. You don't normally ever master karate. The best thing to do is to practice often and hard.
