There are 10 Dans and then you become a saku, and you can't get any higher than that!!
In my jujitsu (Goshin Jujitsu) we are graded every three months so bearing the belt system in mind: White, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Brown 1st Stripe, Brown 2nd Stripe, Brown 3rd Stripe, Black, Black 1st Dan-10th Dan. I'd say about 18 months (1 year and 6 months).
traditional jujitsu from japan and Brazilian jujitsu from Brazil
Jujitsu is not a sport. It is a martial art that is practiced in many countries of the world including Canada.
Jujitsu first originated in the country Japan.
The man was a guitarist, but practiced jujitsu in his spare time. The child had been taking jujitsu since he was five years old. The mixed martial artist was trained in grappling and jujitsu.
Judo was based on jujitsu.
The gracie family did not invent Jujitsu they teach it for money. Jujitsu was invented in Japan around 5000 years ago.
William Howard Taft did some boxing when he was in college. I don't know about jujitsu.
Jujitsu is a Japanese martial art. The word is Japanese and means 'The gentle art.'
there are no such things as jujitsu karate
There are some techniques in which Jujitsu can be used aggressively but from what I've seen...there aren't many. Jujitsu is not a martial art that teaches punches and kicks it teaches grapples and escapes, reversals and counters. Therefore making it more of a self defense martial art; than an aggressive one. Hope this helps.
