Elijiah Muhammad did because Malcolm broke apart from the nation of Islam, and after his trip to Mecca, returned to the US to preach a radically different and more peaceful Islam than what Elijiah Muhammad was teaching. Also Malcolm made public the corruption taking place within the nation (elijiah impregnating teenage secretaries, etc.)
Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X had a strained relationship. Ali turned his back on Malcolm, and he regrets that he wasn't able to say he was sorry. Malcolm X died in 1965.

The morning after winning the heavyweight boxing championship, Malcolm X introduced Ali to the press in New York. Malcolm x predicted that Ali would become a world figure and of course the first Muslim boxing champion. Ali toured Harlem with Malcolm and was introduced to African diplomats in the lobby of the United Nations. As an aside, at this particular time, Cassius Clay had not yet changed his name to Muhammad Ali.
